Gabriel is still a child. His sister is only 1 year old. Both of them should be living a childhood surrounded by protection and safety.

But the reality of this family is very different.

They live alone with their mother in an improvised house, built with scraps of wood. The walls have wide cracks. The roof does not protect them the way it should.

And every time it rains, water invades the inside of the house.

There have already been nights when the family had to sleep on a completely wet bed.

The cold also makes the children sick.

Beyond the lack of food, there is another constant problem. The children keep getting sick because they spend days exposed to the leaks and to the low temperatures inside their own home.

While many families find shelter when it rains, this mother watches the water invade the only place where her children should feel safe.
